Manufacturing conventional fertilizer requires enormous energy input, mostly from power plants that burn fossil fuels and release greenhouse gasses.

Sustainable alternatives exist, but they can be costly.

Sustainably made fertilizers are essential for climate-smart agriculture. These offer benefits for the climate, soil, and ultimately, consumer health. Yet, existing sustainable fertilizers are limited by high costs, nutrient reliability, and practical challenges.

One solution is organic fertilizer, but many organic fertilizers cannot efficiently deliver nutrients and ensure high yield.

There are not enough high-quality, consistently-performing organic fertilizers on the market.
